The Trustees

Jackie Bignell – Chairperson
I live in south Gloucestershire with my husband and two children. My family joined Special Friends Club when my son was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD at the age of 4.
I became a trustee a few years later and then was given the role as Chairperson. The time that I volunteer to the charity is rewarded in so many ways. I have made many special friends and my son has been able to take part in so many activities and days out that he would otherwise find difficult to access due to his disability. I am proud to work with such a dedicated team of trustees and to be able to help other families in the same situation as my own. I also work for a bank and enjoy music, books, films and nights out to relax and laugh with friends. My life is pretty full and challenging at times but I continue to be happy and Positive. I am delighted to say Special Friends Club goes from strength to strength!

My family has been part of Special Friends Club for many years and for the past 3 years I have been activities co-ordinator.
I am mum to Billie who has Aspergers and learning disabilities, Archie who is under assessment at present and Reuben (3 years) who has Epilepsy, oh and my husband Marcus well where do I start!
I will be at most activities to check your family in and answer any questions you may have. All I ask is that if you are running late or unable to attend please call or text me, my children find waiting very difficult. I look forward to seeing you at the events.
